1600 MW CCPP Shurkhandarya Project

On April 22, 2021, Stone City Energy signed a contract with the Ministry of Energy of Uzbekistan for a gas turbine power plant. Under the terms of the agreement, Stone City Energy will be responsible for the design, financing, construction, commissioning, operation and management of the 1,600 MW capacity power plant for 25 years. The launch is scheduled for End of 2026. The project will introduce the latest technologies, including advanced HL class steam-gas units of the HL class (manufactured by Siemens Energy).

The CCPP (Combined Cycle Power Plant) that will be built in Surkhandarya is using the latest technologies and innovations and operates with an efficiency of 63%. In addition, it will allow saving 1.1 billion cubic meters of natural gas against an annual consumption of 2.2 billion cubic meters. The Surkhandarya CCPP is a stand-alone project that does not serve any specific industry but will increase the efficiency of the power generation sector in Uzbekistan, ensure grid stability and reliable power supply.

Stone City Energy and its partners will finance, design, build and operate the Surkhandarya CCPP.

The impact of Shurkhandarya CCPP 1600 MW includes:

Reduction of carbon emissions and gas consumption by replacing old gas-fired generation capacity with high-efficiency power plants; Grid stabilization and increase in efficiency of the transmission system; Reduction of water consumption compared to similar plants; Employment generation in the Surkhandarya region; Economic development of the region through reliable electricity
